This Short Learning Programme covers all policies and laws that have a bearing on the delivery of housing in South Africa. It outlines the legal drafting process and also stresses the importance not only of unambiguous policy and legal judgments but also compliance and effective implementation relating to these.

The aim of the programme is to help participants develop proficient skills and knowledge relating to housing policy and law in both the public and private sectors, such as:  housing and human settlements officials, bank employees dealing with home loans, employees of non-profit organisations working in the social housing sector, town planners, urban designers, architects, developers etc.

  • Entry Requirements

    It is required that participants have a background in law, housing policy, the built environment, or housing finance. It is assumed that they have English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills that are equivalent to at least NQF level 4.
